Comden (Complete Design Electronics) was incorporated and registered with the Federal Ministry of Commerce in Lagos (Nigeria) on the 23rd of January in 1979 for the purpose to trade and deal in and with equipment used in electrical power, telecommunications, telemetry, television, telephony, telegraphy and signaling whether by electrical or any other means, as stated in the Memorandum of Association. Comprehensively the business was mainly engaged in UHF, VHF and HF communication, supported by CODAN from Australia with technical expertise.

Comden was operated under British management until 1987, when it was taken over by the German citizen Dipl. Ing. Christian Spiess. By 1993 he acquired the majority of the share capital along with the post of the Managing Director and the company is now fully in European hands.
